A Non Departmental Public Body (NDPB), we exist to help individuals and businesses succeed through the enhancement of training and skills. With an £11.6bn budget in 2008-09, we work closely with the Further Education system and employers to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and training.
The newly established Regional Councils will lead our regional and local presence, acting as guiding voices that can translate national and regional strategy into practice. They will be charged with the effective investment of more than £36bn for the next two to three years. Their aim? To make the learning and skills market work more effectively by securing learner and employer participation and implementing wider economic regeneration strategies.
Members will forge effective relationships with key regional partners and stakeholders, securing strong links between jobs, training and skills.
