Regional Council Members
You’ll have senior level experience in a wide range of backgrounds including:
* business
* the learning and skills sector
* the schools sector
* Local Government
* trade union
* higher education
It goes without saying that you’ll need to demonstrate a commitment to learning and skills. In addition you’ll have an understanding of your region’s skills and employment needs, including an appreciation of the different skills needs in sub-regions.
We’re looking for recognised personal achievements in business and management, and professional or vocational spheres. You’ve ideally worked at board level and will have credibility in your community. Evidence of being able to forge effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, excellent communication and networking skills, experience of public speaking and a strong commitment to equal opportunities are all essential.
A strategic thinker with sound judgment, sensitivity and political awareness, you’ll be able to apply your own influence in support of corporate objectives and will have an understanding of what constitutes successful organisational performance.
Regional Chairs
We’re looking for Regional Chairs with a current or very recent commercial background. Perhaps you have senior board level experience? Maybe you can demonstrate a strong track record of leading sustained successful organisational performance?
Your profile should also demonstrate stewardship across a variety of different backgrounds and professions, the ability to secure and sustain effective strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders, and credibility with the business and wider community. A true advocate for learning and skills, you’ll have experience of dealing with media and public speaking and the natural ability to apply your own leadership skills, influence, experience and expertise.
